Ramadan trial day 5!

4 Jul

There is a voice inside of you
That whispers all day long,
“I feel this is right for me,
I know that this is wrong.”
No teacher, preacher, parent, friend
Or wise man can decide
What’s right for you–just listen to
The voice that speaks inside.”
― Shel Silverstein

All parents have a story to tell us. How they brought us up, when we took our first baby steps, How they dressed us up for our first day at school, our first roza, our room and what not. The voice that we reserve in our hearts is heard because we were told by our dad one sunny morning that listen to your heart, and embark upon the path that your heart takes you to.

Today, if I go visit Mothers in Edhi foundation, I realize what a disgrace children have been to the pure love that parents shower upon their kids. My Ammi is a working women, she spends less time at home and holds a relatively aggressive nature but years after I’ve spent time with her, I’ve realized that she is someone who looks forward to gratitude, attention and acknowledgement for the sacrifices she has rendered for us. Pity on me if I can’t do that for her. Why can’t I take care of my Dad in his older age when he never pondered for a second before lending me a finger to teach me how to walk? If independence and modesty means disgracing our parents, I don’t mind being called an orthodox.

Today I learned that strive as harder as you can to paint smiles on you parents faces! I love my parents and will do as much as I can to make them feel loved and important!
