Ramadan trial day 16

16 Jul

“… But I’m annoying you to no purpose with my arguments. A person whose house is only open on the west can’t see the sun rise at dawn; it’s only seen when the sun sets at dusk. If one tries to compare the colour and appearance of the two, one will go on arguing forever..”

Either we don’t want our ties to stay strong, or we find reasons to weaken the strings. That is why the most genuine of the issue, difference of opinion turns our to be the cause of world wars these days. It takes us a moment to pick up aggressive words, high pitch, an unpleasant attitude and yell on the other person  just because he/she  thought that the political party you support is not the best. Our facial expressions, the fluctuations, our body language, all of it is an indication of despair. We might not feel it, because all these tiny things, sometimes they get engraved in our souls. I am not saying that you should abandon fighting and quarrels on yourself, absolutely not. We’re humans and all of this certainly builds a relationship stronger, but when we can’t show tolerance towards difference of opinion, that’s when we cross legitimate lines to fight. Unnecessary battling starts to stir bitterness.

The highest of the intellect always has an element of the ability to accept difference of opinion, that is why we can co-exist with spiritual versatility in this world,  we all have our own policies, likes and dislikes, and opinions. All of this frames our personality and that’s why when someone talks disputed about it, it leads us to rage and anger. The commonest of the un- tolerated difference of opinion is the one dealing with religion. In the near past, TV programs with religious intolerant participants were aired because it used to grab TRPs. But when the animosity crossed the threshold and cultivated the sectarian killings, that’s when the media groups realised that they shall promote this very important element of  ‘difference of opinion’

So on the 16th day of Ramadan, I’ve decided that I’d promote and spread the message of acceptance, every where. Most importantly, through the media of my communications.
